Called to preach at age twenty-one, Russell A. Morris has devoted his life to Christian ministry. His love for people is evident in both personal and pastoral relationships. Since May 1, 2000, he has served as lead pastor at Harvest Hills Church. He also serves as district overseer for the Churches of God in Alamance County and has served in numerous areas of denominational leadership, currently serving his fourth elected term to the state council. From 1996-1999 he served as part-time professor of pastoral studies at East Coast Bible College in Charlotte, NC. Through expository preaching and practical teaching his ministry objective is to offer relevant biblical insight for effectively living the Christian life.
Dr. Morris’ academic background includes the following earned degrees: the bachelor of arts (Lee University); the master of arts (Church of God Theological Seminary); the master of theology (South African Theological Seminary); the doctor of ministry (Erskine Theological Seminary); and the doctor of philosophy (South African Theological Seminary). CPE was completed at North Carolina’s Baptist Hospital. Dr. Morris is the author of Christian Ethics: Where Life and Faith Meet (CrossBooks).
Russell and Wanda have one daughter, Nichole, who is married to Brian Squires, and three granddaughters, Hope, Brianna and McKamie.
