Russell A. Morris was called to preach at age twenty-one and has devoted his life to Christian ministry. Ordained in 1986, his love for people is evident in both personal and pastoral relationships. His expository preaching and practical teaching offer relevant insight for successfully living the Christian life. Russell and Wanda reside in the Burlington area. They have one daughter, Nichole, who is married to Brian Squires, and three granddaughters, Hope, Brianna and McKamie.

Dr. Morris has served as senior pastor at Harvest Hills Church since May 1, 2000. He also serves as district overseer for the Churches of God in Alamance County and has served in several areas of denominational leadership, currently serving his third elected term to the state council. His academic background includes the following earned degrees: the bachelor of arts (Lee University), the master of arts (Church of God Theological Seminary) , the master of theology (South African Theological Seminary), the doctor of ministry (Erskine Theological Seminary), and the doctor of philosophy (Louisiana Baptist University). CPE was completed at the North Carolina Baptist Hospital. He served as part-time professor of pastoral studies at East Coast Bible College in Charlotte, NC, from 1996-1999, and is a current member of the American Association of Christian Counselors. Dr. Morris is the author of Christian Ethics: Where Life and Faith Meet (CrossBooks).
